Why is the Charity needed?
Salisbury Hospice is the only provider of specialist palliative care in the local area. Although they receive some NHS funding, they rely heavily on fundraising and donations to cover the annual running costs.
Salisbury Hospice Charity aims to raise £1.5 million towards these costs every year.
Making a difference, every day
Through the generosity and support of local people, Salisbury Hospice can continue to offer nursing and medical care, emotional and practical support, welfare advice, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, complementary therapies and creative activities.
These services are provided free to patients and their families – either at the hospice, in the community or in their own homes.
They don’t just help people in the last few weeks of their lives – they often provide care for up to a year or longer.
The hospice provides support through:
- Inpatient unit
- Hospice at Home service
- Peter Gillam Day Centre
- Community palliative care team
- Hospital palliative care team
- Family support
- Education programme
The hospice team couldn’t do all of this without your support. Find out more about how you can donate, fundraise or volunteer for us.
Area Map
Did you know patients are supported from across our entire region? Not just Salisbury but North, South, East and West with patients from Hampshire and Dorset too.
As well as the Inpatient Unit in Salisbury, the team of Community and Hospice at Home nurses are based across the region.
Hospice services are more than just the Inpatient Unit and the team are there when needed the most.
This is not a fixed boundary as the catchment is surgery based some of which is shared with neighbouring services.
