On Wednesday 7th September, thirteen trekkers will depart for Chamonix, France to take on Mont Blanc.
These brave individuals will trek across three countries, taking on one of the world’s most renowned trekking circuits, in aid of Salisbury Hospice Charity. The challenge will be physically demanding and will test their stamina and determination.
The trek will take three days to complete, across mountainous terrain with challenging ascents and descents. Each day will require between 6 to 7 hours of trekking.
Initially, the group were supposed to take on the challenge in 2020, but the trek has been postponed several times due to the recent pandemic.
The training has been tough and time-consuming, but the group are eager to get going! We are certain the views, being some of the best in Europe, will be worth every minute of hardship this group will endure.
Rob Fielding from Discover Adventure said, “When you are facing your biggest challenge, think of why you are doing this and who you are doing it for; you are doing this for someone who may not ever have the privilege.”
Each of these intrepid trekkers is kindly fundraising on behalf of Salisbury Hospice, ensuring that vital end-of-life care is provided to over 1,000 patients and their families each year. We are so grateful for their support.
