Mark Benevolent Fund Donates £3,000 to Salisbury Hospice

We are so very grateful to have received a truly generous donation of £3,000, donated by the Mark Benevolent Fund on behalf of three Mark Master Mason Lodges (MMM).

In April the Trustees of the Mark Benevolent Fund approved a Major Capital Grant of £1.25 million to support hospices in England and Wales. Every Mark Lodge was invited to nominate a hospice of their choosing to receive a £1,000 donation.

Elias de Derham Lodge of MMM, Radnor Lodge of MMM and Border Lodge of MMM, all kindly nominated Salisbury Hospice to receive a donation of £1,000. We were delighted to welcome representatives of each of the three MMM Lodges to the hospice gardens on Friday 22nd of October, the cheque was presented to our Community Fundraiser, Tamsin by R.W.Bro. Andy Beaumont who spoke about the charitable work of the Mark Benevolent Fund and the Mark Master Masons.

The pandemic has had a huge impact on charities and healthcare, it has strained services due to staff shortages and restrictions. The hospice has continually had to adapt it’s services in order to meet the demand for essential end of life care in the community, because of kind donations such as this Salisbury Hospice is able to continue assisting patients with specialist end of life care and provide support to carers and families even in such unprecedented times.

We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to the Mark Benevolent Fund and members of the Elias de Derham Lodge of MMM, Radnor Lodge of MMM and Border Lodge of MMM.

The grant has been made in recognition of a lifetime of service in desiccation to the Crown and nation by His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
