Kind supporters Suz and Rosie Dru Drury are generously donating all profits from their book ‘Wheels of Independence’ to Salisbury Hospice Charity.
Suzie Dru Drury was born with cerebral palsy, a disability that affects the movement of her legs. After deciding she wanted a new challenge in her life, she chose to write a book with the help of her sister Rosie. The book is all about how she has coped living with cerebral palsy throughout her life, and how she overcame additional obstacles that came her way, through fierce determination.
‘I needed another challenge in my life and having written poetry before I thought I could write a book and achieve something different. My younger sister, Rosie, has written a book before, so I knew she could help me.’
Sadly, in 2015 Suz lost her twin sister, Pips to cancer. Pips was cared for during her final days by the team at Salisbury Hospice. Below she states in her own words why she chose to support Salisbury Hospice.

‘You are a fabulous organisation. My twin sister Pips was cared for by Salisbury Hospice and you did a wonderful job making Pip’s last days as could as they could be. The staff were very caring and supportive, communicating with her and making her feel safe. I just wanted to say thank you and help future patients.’
This isn’t the first time Suz has supported the hospice; she successfully completed a walking challenge in 2020, consisting of 700 laps of her corridor. This challenge was made all the more difficult by her disability, pushing her body to the limits. The challenge raised over £1k for Salisbury Hospice.
We cannot thank Suz enough for her ongoing and incredibly generous support of Salisbury Hospice Charity. We are truly inspired by Suz’s story and hope you will be too.
