In January of 2021 Salisbury Hospice Charity launched its 40-4-40 club initiative, inviting local businesses to jointly raise £40,000 in support of Salisbury Hospice’s 40th-year celebrations.
33 big-hearted businesses signed up to the club and individually fundraised in a variety of different ways. This included challenge events such as physical and virtual walks, a plane pull and treks. Other businesses held competitions, events and donated their services to raise funds.
In December, to round off the fundraising for the year, we launched our first-ever, online Christmas raffle. Members of the 40-4-40 club donated prizes to the raffle which raised an additional £1,170 towards the overall total.
We are extremely grateful to all 33 businesses for their incredibly generous support. The £41,392 raised will make a huge difference to the patients and families supported by Salisbury Hospice, with the funding going towards specialist nursing within the hospice’s inpatient unit.
