'I qualified from medical school at the University of Edinburgh in 1997, and after initially working in Scotland made my way South including 16 months working as the doctor (and occasionally token dentist) for the British Antarctic Survey in the Southern Ocean and Antarctic! I undertook my Specialist Palliative Medicine training in Wessex and joined the Salisbury Specialist Palliative Care Team as a consultant in 2011. I have postgraduate qualifications in remote healthcare and medical education and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2015.
As well as being lead consultant for the service I am also clinical lead for End of Life Care at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and until recently Training Programme Director for specialty training in Wessex. I mainly work in the acute hospital, supporting patients with palliative care needs.
