This is a story of one of the most incredible fundraisers we have been lucky enough to have.
Gislaine Woods is 90 years old. At the beginning of lockdown last year, she decided that she would walk the length of her road, 90 times before her 90th Birthday. Spurred on by her incredible community and wonderful neighbours Sharon and Erin, Gislaine not only completed the walks, despite limited mobility but raised a phenomenal £3,643 in the process.
Gislaine picks up the story:
I am aiming to walk to the end of my road (sometimes further) and back, 90 times before my 90th birthday in November. Salisbury Hospice Charity needs help to raise funds as their fundraising was affected by the Novichok Salisbury poisonings two years ago and now they have had to cancel all of their events this year due to Covid19. Any donation, no matter how big or small will make a difference.
Gislaine really has made a huge difference and at the same time has proven no matter your age, you can do anything.
You can still support this wonderful lady here.
Gislaine talks to us about her challenge:
Later on this week, we will be sharing the full interview in our Salisbury Hospice Charity Podcast.
