Salisbury Hospice Charity’s FREE Will Scheme is now open, all year-round.
In collaboration with Parker Bullen LLP, Salisbury Hospice Charity are encouraging local people to make or amend their will. Whilst there is no obligation, we hope you’ll consider leaving a legacy to us to help secure the future of hospice care in Salisbury.
Kirsty Gazzard, Wills and Probate Executive at Parker Bullen LLP, expressed enthusiasm for the evolution of the partnership, “We are thrilled to embark on this exciting new chapter with Salisbury Hospice. Over the years, our Free Wills Scheme has empowered countless individuals to secure their legacies while supporting a cause close to their hearts. Extending this initiative year-round underscores our commitment to serving the community and reinforces the enduring value of estate planning. While we all know the importance of having a Will, we understand that taking this step can be daunting, which is why we are passionate about Free Wills schemes to make this more accessible to everyone. With over £67,000 raised in legacies for Salisbury Hospice during the 2024 February campaign alone, we are proud to see the impact of the campaign in future years to come.”
Why write a will
If your circumstances have recently changed, such as moving house, new baby, retiring, getting divorced, married, or becoming a grandparent, it is a opportune moment to create or revise your Will. Providing peace of mind and reassurance by ensuring that your assets are passed on to your loved ones.
Writing a will has many benefits aside from allowing you distribute your estate according to your wishes, such as designating guardians for your children. Establish provisions for estate tax planning, and specify who should not inherit from you. In today’s society with intricate family dynamics, including past marriages, children from previous relationships, or cohabitation, intestacy laws may not distribute your estate as you desire. Additionally, we live in an increasingly digital world and will writing can be a useful way to make provisions for our digital assets such as online banking, social media accounts and online shopping.
Why support this scheme
Like many charities, we rely heavily on gifts left in wills. Gifts in wills are vital to the work of Salisbury Hospice. The care and support provide by Salisbury Hospice is free of charge to anyone who may need it, and we want to be here to ensure that people in our local community have access to the best end of life care now and in the future too. By leaving a gift in your will to us, you can help us safeguard future services. You don’t have to be wealthy to do this, any amount, large or small, is extremely valuable to us and will be put to excellent use. Every penny really does count!
How it works
We are continuing our longstanding partnership with Parker Bullen LLP to offer you this all year round FREE will scheme. Parker Bullen have kindly agreed to waive their normal Will writing fee for the preparation of a basic or standard Will in return for a donation to Salisbury Hospice Charity.
