The 8th annual Fabulous Family Fun Day, kindly sponsored by Hendy Group, took place at Salisbury Rugby Club on Saturday. The Fun Day, which has grown every year & is organised in memory of Lyn Futcher, saw 16 football and 8 touch rugby teams play tournaments, together with family entertainment including a live music stage, children’s entertainment, tombola and a beer tent with Pimms and Prosecco bars. The ever-popular raffle was also held with a top prize of a holiday at Beyas Villas in Turkey.
The day exceeded all expectations with record attendance and the most ever raised for Salisbury Hospice, totalling £20,186.82.
Organiser Greig Futcher had the following to say,
I am truly astounded by this fantastic total and the number of people who so kindly attended on the day. It was a great day, we were truly blessed by the weather. I think you might even be able to say it was a “Fantastic” Family Fun Day! A huge thank you must go to my fellow committee members (friends), without whom this wouldn’t be possible. Thanks also goes to Salisbury Rugby Club, our team of dedicated volunteers, performers, sponsors, exhibitors and all who made this day such a resounding success. Not forgetting, of course, our generous headline sponsor Hendy Group. We are delighted to announce the Fabulous Family Fun Day will be returning on Saturday 13th of May 2023 and next year we will be focusing on how to make the event even better! Watch this space.
Salisbury Hospice Charity is incredibly grateful for the outstanding efforts of the committee, their continued kind support of the charity and of course for this amazing total, which will go towards funding the vital end of life services that the hospice provides, free of charge, to members of the community.
